The final boss can be defeated immediately if you are skilled enough. The world record speedrun is just under a half hour without any major unintended skips while my initial playthrough was around 50-60 hours.
THE LEGEND OF ZELDA BREATH OF THE WILD FULL
Aside from the tutorial level, players have full freedom to choose where they go and which story missions they do in which order (if at all as almost all main storyline missions are completely optional.) The game can be completed in anywhere from 2 or 3 to 100s of hours depending on how much of the game you want to play and how much pf the world you want to explore. Almost every part of this painstakingly crafted and beautifully designed world is completely optional. In fact its probably more “open” than 99% of games in the open world action adventure genre. Rather than sticking to the previously established formula of a linear storyline and progression system, this game goes full on open world. Not a perfect game but still one of the best ever made.Īs a soft reboot of the Zelda series, this game is by far the Zelda game that diverges the most from the core formula as well as the established running themes. You’ll never get bored of the gorgeous Hyrule landscapes, the soundtrack, the side quests - just incredible. Of course there’s the main goal of defeating Gannon, but even after that I guarantee there’ll be places you missed in your travels. My personal thoughts on the game is that it’s a stunning, stunning game, that due to its open-world nature is essentially endless. I wouldn’t go any younger purely because most of the puzzles are substantially challenging, even for adults!

I gave my age rating as 8+ because I work with 7-10 year old girls as a brownie leader and I know that my girls wouldn’t hesitate to have a good crack at the game, and I know they’d adore it and wouldn’t be phased by any of the themes I mentioned above. Again, nothing your child will even care about. They wear armoured crop tops and skirts/shorts therefore showing a bit of skin, but that’s because they live in a desert. The Gerudo are a race of dark-skinned, badass warrior women who live in the scorching desert. I’ve also read people saying that the Gerudo women are inappropriate. These fairies aren’t needed to complete the game, if you’re really that worried.
THE LEGEND OF ZELDA BREATH OF THE WILD TV
There are four characters, the great fairies, who are quite busty but nothing your child won’t have seen before on TV adverts or at the beach. In response to all the people saying that there’s too much overt sexualisation - utter nonsense. The fights are never truly scary, more so adrenaline-filled, but enemies appearing can sometimes give a bit of a shock. No blood, no gore, just a health bar going down. However, when an enemy (save for some bosses and mini bosses) dies, there’s just a proof of black smoke and they’re gone. There is inarguably violence involved in this game.
THE LEGEND OF ZELDA BREATH OF THE WILD SERIES
Previously my favourite nintendo games were the animal crossing, pokemon and professor layton series - BoTW is a beautifully rendered, open world combination of the three. My dad got me this game at the start of quarantine for the wii U and it’s just been life changing. BTW, sorry for long review, but I hope it was helpful.

Anyway, overall an absolutely spectacular game, and also, possibly the greatest game ever made. : | That's a few hours of my life that I'll never get back. So basically, I had to fight fireblight gannon without any weapons. The game didn't save the boss's health, but it did save my inventory.

And warning #2: Never save the game mid boss fight, seriously, don't! I thought I was being clever when I saved the near the end of the fight when all of my weapons were broken so I could just finish him off with bombs and go back to that part if I mess up, but I was wrong. Warning #1: The yiga clan hideout is extremely hard and I probably spent about 8 hours trying to complete it, so be warned. I like how you have to figure out what your supposed to do without the game telling you, and you could spend hours trying to pull off some random crap, and then realize that's not even what your supposed to do! I do have a couple of warnings. Only reason why I think it's 11 and up is the difficulty and confusing puzzle solving segments. It has a massive open world, it's the perfect difficulty, and gameplay is just insanely fun. The franchise always been good (it is the second biggest nintendo franchise), but this is were it shines the most.
